Things to Know About Attending the Woodstock Summer Concert Series

For those of you gearing up to attend your first Woodstock Concert Series, this is the guide for you. Brought to Cherokee County communities by Northside Cherokee Hospital and Carriage Kia of Woodstock, the Summer Concert Series is the highlight of summer. But you have to know ‘the ropes if you’re going to rock like a pro.

This guide offers pro tips so you can have the best time ever. This article was sponsored by Carriage Kia of Woodstock, all opinions are my own. They are my local Kia dealership and where I purchased my vehicle.

Woodstock Summer Concert
Just look at this insane crowd!

Held one weekend a month from June – September, the free outdoor concert brings up to 10k residents to the newly built Northside Cherokee Amphitheater in Downtown Woodstock, GA. The four events feature local business handing out swag, face painting, bouncy houses, food trucks, local craft beer and live performances popular bands like Everclear. For anyone and everyone in town, it’s a family-friendly event and it’s loads of fun. Here’s what you need to know.

Bring Blankets and Chairs

There is a massive lawn in front of the stage where most of the crowd sets up shop. Think beach style. If you don’t have a chair or blanket to sit on, it’s grass for you.

Bring a Cooler

It’s smart to bring a cooler with your own drinks and snacks. There are food trucks and adult beverages, but that can add up if you have a big family. Plus, you’re going to be there a few hours. Remember, no glass and be kind to the planet by avoiding plastic straws and styrofoam. Check out these reusable straws here.

Bring Sunglasses and Sunscreen

Even though the concert series is an evening show, the sun doesn’t set entirely until 8:00ish, so you’re going to want to protect your skin and sport your sunglasses.

Arrive Early to Find Parking

I have never paid for parking to attend this event. If you get there about an hour early, you should have zero problems finding parking. The concert series website does offer more information on parking, but I say, get in early and get out early. We park our 2019 Kia Sportage EX right across from the venue and it takes us maybe three minutes to get into the park.

Bring Cool Glow Things

Kids love having glow necklaces and bracelets when they are outside at night. You can get these at your local Dollar Tree and show them a good time for a few small bucks.

You Don’t Have to Use the Port-O-Letts

There are actual real bathrooms behind the stage. I’m not a fan of port-o-potties, in fact, I despise them. Don’t feel like you have to take your kids in there, there are normal bathrooms for the win.

Get to Downtown Woodstock Early and Stay Late

Downtown Woodstock is a charming little southern district. There are plenty of places to eat and boutique shops to enjoy during the day before you settle in for the concert. And after the concert is over, you can keep the night alive in any of the local bars/restaurants that have live music. One of my favorite spots is Rootstock & Vine where they serve tapas and wine and have a beautiful rooftop bar.

Behave Yourself

One of the most important and attractive features of attending the Woodstock Summer Concert Series is having communities come together to enjoy a free night of live music without acting up. I have never seen an unruly person at any of these events, despite everyone drinking and having a good time. So behave yourself. Don’t be a party pooper by acting like a tool.

Dress Like a Normal Person, Not Like You’re Going to the Club

This is a family event, no one wants to see all the things wiggling and jiggling. Keep it classy Cherokee. And remember, it’s summer in Georgia. It can be hot, but most of the time in the evenings it’s comfortable and quite nice. So, dress for summer, and you might even want to wear a hat to keep the sun off your face.

And, they have a stunning showroom with luxury like service concierge. Go check them out!

The Woodstock Summer Concert Series is a free event held over the summer and open to all. If this is your first visit, I hope you find these tips helpful. And if you’re shopping for a new ride, be sure to pay a visit to my friends at Carriage Kia of Woodstock and see just what Kia has brought to the auto industry this year. Bring it on!!! Outside music fests are the best, but I agree with you some people go over the top and see it as a place to let it.all.hang.out. So not appropriate
