With fall fast approaching it’s time to start thinking about layers. And I’m not talking cheesy layers, I’m talking layers that work while giving you super awesome comfort. We put Minus33 to the test when they sent us a pair to review. My other half, Sean, spends 40+ hours a week in a freezer. Here’s his Minus33 Kancamagus Men’s Midweight Wool Bottom Review. They retail at $75.99 on their website + shipping.

We opted to not take photos in my work freezer for obvious reasons. Instead, we recreated the Minus33 Wool Bottom look by bringing our little dog the park and chilling in the back of the Niro. Because let’s be honest, it’s kind of weird to walk around in your underwear when it’s 95 degrees out in Atlanta. Laughs ensue.

I wore these to work for about a week before writing this review. I work in a freezer for up to nine hours a day. It’s real. So, just to put this into perspective for you, my requirements for work layers are; comfort, warmth, protection, and durability. And that last one is major because I go through about four pairs of under armor a year. Here is what I thought about the Minus33 Kancamagus Men’s Midweight Wool Bottom.

Comfort – My first impression was that they were super soft. I almost want to keep them just for lounging around in the winter. They were long enough for full coverage plus slouch which means I won’t have to yank my socks up super high. When I put them on they were crazy comfortable. Like I didn’t want to take them off!

Warmth – In the freezer, they worked great. I never got cold and they were soft and cozy all day.

Protection – They did the job and protected me from the long cold hours at work. They are also thicker than my usual brand, so I felt like I had extra padding which was nice.

As for durability, I’ll update this post in a few months and let you know how they’re holding up. I’m betting they are going to last the whole year at least which means I’m actually going to save if I switch to these long term.

My only beef – And this goes for most all brands, there are no heel straps which keep the underlayer from hiking up. I have to cut holes into the bottom hem and stick my feet through that then socks over it. BUT since they are so long and slouchy, this is easy for me.
