One of Our Favorite Travel Related Technologies

It seems like we are always in a hotel somewhere. One thing I can’t stand doing is watching hotel TV. Given that I write about travel inspired by film and television, TV is actually part of my job. Yet, I can never get the shows I want in the room. That’s why I love streaming device technology like Roku, Chromecast and Apple TV. You can plug it into your hotel room TV and stream your favorite shows and movies.

This technology is especially useful during that first hour of a sponsored trip. Most folks don’t realize this but, when I open a hotel room for the first time, it’s time to work! I’ve got to take pictures of the untouched room, post social updates and let the world know I’ve arrived and what things are looking like. Try doing that with a six year-old who just spent five hours in a plane!

Setting my son up with his favorite entertainment just makes getting settled in and getting the job done virtually stress-free. And it allows me to focus and finish up so I can move on to better things, like checking out the actual hotel! Of course the handiness of this tech doesn’t stop here. When I’m unpacking, packing and getting articles written at night, this amazing tech just makes doing all that so much easier. Not to mention, it’s just super nice to have your favorite entertainment handy.
