The following is a review of a fabulous luxury boutique hotel in Edinburgh. While I did not pay for this accommodation, it in no way shapes my opinion of it. When Visit Scotland asked me to join them for a film tour, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. Two of my loves, film and travel, sign me up. Part of the itinerary, to stay at the new Hotel Indigo Edinburgh. If you haven’t stayed in a Hotel Indigo then you’re missing out. I was blown away by this property.

My New Favorite Luxury Boutique Hotel in Edinburgh

I was eager as always to start my tour in Edinburgh, by far one of my favorite capital cities. I traveled the better part of 20 hours when my taxi dropped me off at my new digs for the coming days.

Set among a string of Georgian buildings (similar to the style seen in Dublin) was the Hotel Indigo, a première luxury boutique hotel. Being among (if not the first) corporate established boutique hotels, they offer a high standard of service with all the convenience and accountability of corporate hospitality.

About the Hotel

Immediately, I was greeted by the friendly staff. Happy to see a well designed decor inspired by the local vibe, I felt pretty good about this boutique hotel so far.

I made my way to my room, a lovely and well designed executive suite complete with a loft-like upper level which where I found a desk and living room with TV / reading area. My suite held a queen size bed. I loved the lighting in the room and there were two TV’s (both in the living and bed areas).

An added bonus (but varies depending on location) was a complimentary mini bar.

Loved my little workspace.

My bathroom was very spacious with one of those amazing rain showers. Truly it was a perfect and beautifully designed room.

The breakfast was great. Again friendly staff, great coffee, everything you need to start your day. I enjoyed the salmon.

Location: Just on York Place and minutes from Princess street, this is a great location for most everything a traveler would wish to do in Edinburgh. I walked to the Royal Mile several times which was lovely and took at best 20 minutes.

For sure this is my new favorite luxury boutique hotel in Edinburgh. The staff, design, room, location, everything was perfect. With a very affordable price-point, this is a great choice for just about anyone whether you’re traveling for business or leisure.

Special thanks and consideration to our sponsors:
