Captain America: Civil War is officially in theaters. Everything I’ve heard so far about it is that it’s the best Captain America movie yet and I’m seriously counting down the days until I can get out and see it. Christa went and saw it on Friday and she seriously flipped out.
Although we all know the main battle happens between two male favorites, Captain America and Iron Man, as a geek girl I have to give some love to all of the fantastic and butt-kicking female stars of the movie.
For those of you that haven’t seen the movie yet or need a little refresher about the movie, here’s the official trailer.

Captain America: Civil War Featurette
Growing up, there weren’t a lot of female super heroes. Seeing so many women all in one movie fighting for what they believe is so empowering. I can only imagine how great it is for young girls everywhere to see that it’s not just the boys that can save our world, but that girls can and do make a difference, too.
The one female character I’m most excited to see in the movie is Scarlet Witch. We’ve all gotten to know more about Black Widow and Agent 13 through other movies and TV, but I’m beyond excited to see Scarlet Witch really do her thing in Civil War. Her fantastic costume update alone is making me want to see and learn more about her character.
Projected to bring in $181.8 million for it’s North American box office debut, as well as doing amazingly well in reviews from both critics and movie goers, Captain America: Civil War is the perfect movie to kick off the summer. So here’s to an amazing movie and the awesome female superheroes helping to make it all happen!
