20 Totally Killer and Uber Romantic Date Ideas in Atlanta, Georgia

Looking for date ideas in Atlanta? First, let me congratulate you! You made it to a date night which likely means you braved the internet dating scene. 

Kudos. Now You just need to get yourself into a legit date setting to see where things go and Atlanta might just be one of the most romantic places to be for said date night (or day depending on your vibe).

Atlanta is an incredible city that I fell in love with so much after visiting last October that, I picked up from six hundred miles away and moved here. Talk about the feels right?

Date Ideas in Atlanta, Georgia

No matter what your date vibe is, this list of date ideas in Atlanta has something for everyone from strolling through the cemetery to shopping at Dior.

And unlike some other mega lists, I’ve personally been on a date to each one of these spots.

Day Dates

Atlanta Movie Tours – If you love film and call yourself a fan of titles like; The Walking Dead, The Hunger Games, Divergent, Spiderman, Captain America and many more, then you would love taking a film tour with Atlanta Movie Tours. Check out my review of them here.

Buford Farmer’s Market – This is such an interesting place to visit. Home to imports from around the world, this giant market will leave you intrigued and perhaps bringing home some exotic things.

Oakland Cemetery – One of my favorite (and first) date ideas in Atlanta was its historic cemetery, built in 1850, is a showplace of sculpture and architecture.

It’s a stunning place to visit in nice weather with its botanical preserve, ancient oaks, and magnolias.

Six Feet Under – Just across from the Oakland Cemetery is Six Feet Under where you can make your own Bloody Mary at their Bloody Mary Bar and enjoy a mix of American and seafood dishes.

Swan House – Built in 1928 and located in the Atlanta History Center, the Swan House was home to Edward and Emily Inman.

Its well-preserved property and stunning exterior make it a super romantic setting for any day date. It was also the setting for President Snow’s Capitol Party in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Atlanta Botanical Gardens – The gardens are always hosting a special show.

It’s home to the Kendeda Canopy Walk, a 600-foot-long (180 m) skywalk that leads visitors to through one of the city’s last remaining urban forests from around 40 feet in the air in the treetops of the Storza Woods.

The skywalk extends from a bluff in the Garden into the branches of oaks, hickories and poplars. The woodland gardens below are home to various lighting events as well.

Porsche Experience Center Atlanta – Supercharge your driving skills at the Porsche Experience Center where you can drive full speed ahead. A cool surprise for the heavy-footed in the relationship.

My guy recently got to experience this one for himself and wow! The thrills were real! Their 1.6-mile circuit is designed to take you, the driver, on a tour of Porsche’s performance.

From the kick plate to the off-road circuit, he was able to experience the unique capabilities of Porsche. I mean, where can you go into launch mode, drift, off-road and put the pedal to the metal? 

A Lot to do in One Place

Ponce City Market  – I love Ponce City Market with its open-air setting and indoor food court of boutique restaurants for every palette.

Mercury – If you’re looking for a unique place to grab a casual, you have to check out the Mercury at Ponce City Market.

Such a cool retro vibe happening there, you will definitely be impressing your date with this one. Especially if they have an artistic edge.

The Tap – I love The Tap. You can walk right up and get one of their amazing beers or even wine, on tap! They also sell pretty decent wine by the bottle.

A cool way to have a social drink while checking out Ponce City Market.

Skyline Park – Home to one of the best views in the city, Skyline Park is a rooftop carnival where you can enjoy at any age.

Of all the date ideas in Atlanta, this may be one of the most unique and unexpected for me.

Super Classy

Atlas – If you’re looking to class it way up, there’s an amazing restaurant at the St. Regis Hotel in Buckhead. I especially love its charming patio seating with fire pits and bar service.

St. Regis – The St. Regis is one of the nicest hotels in Atlanta. It’s a great place to meet for a casual drink or lunch in the afternoon if you’re not already going to Atlas.

Shopping in Buckhead – If you want to impress, why not go shopping in Buckhead. With stores like Dior, L’ Occitane and Jimmy Choo.

The Fox Theatre – This stunning historic theater in the heart of Midtown Atlanta is home to stage shows from around the country.

With both theatrical performances and tours given, it’s a perfect spot for a unique date.

Good Eats

The W Hotel Buckhead – I love this hotel. I love the decor and especially the rooftop Whiskey bar. This is a fun spot if you’re looking to dress up and enjoy drinks.

Plus, if you have too many drinks, you can always get a room.

Vortex Bar and Grill – A unique burger/dive bar spot in Atlanta offering plenty to talk about over dinner.

With menu items like “big naked weenie” “triple bypass burger” and “omfg burgers” there’s certainly something for every hunger type. 21 years old and up only.

Del Frisco’s – This American restaurant, bar and grill is a great spot for its ambiance. Great food too and in the center of Buckhead.

South City Kitchen – Also in the center of Buckhead, the South City Kitchen offers southern food with a modern flare. Great cocktails and service make this ambient setting a perfect spot for date ideas in Atlanta.

Fogo de Chao – Pricey but worth it. Here you get your meat served on a sword. And not just any meat, but Brazilan steakhouse meats.

With items like steak, chicken, lamb, and pork along with a gourmet salad bar, there’s something for every taste. It’s also a very nice setting.
