Before becoming a boy mom, I don’t think I could have ever been convinced that I would love Monster Jam. Last year I took my son for the first time and I think I enjoyed it more than he did. It’s a little loud, a lot of fun, and the perfect activity to do as a family. I can’t wait until I get to attend my second Monster Jam at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on January 16, 2016.
Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, Monster Jam trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, Monster Jam trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster Jam trucks can fly up to 125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air.
Being a mom to a 4-year-old, it’s only natural to love monster trucks. Since my son was two, he’s been drawn to their big tires and loves to make them crash. It’s one of the few things he will play with by himself and they keep him entertained for quite some time. I love seeing him line them up as they get ready to go around the big circle track he’s built, just like they do at Monster Jam. Then he’ll smash, bash, and crash them for the entire afternoon. We even threw him a Monster Jam themed birthday party because he just couldn’t get enough.

Now that we’re less than a week out from seeing Monster Jam, he’s been talking about it non-stop. I went ahead and printed out this amazing activity pack to get him even more excited. It’s perfect for any Monster Jam fan and is full of cool recipes, crafts, coloring pages, and more. I’ve even had to print out the draw your own monster truck page more than once because he had so many different trucks he wanted to create.
In addition to attending the show at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on January 16, 2016, we’ll also be going to The Party in the Pits.
The Party in the Pits on January 16, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. gives fans the opportunity to get a view of the trucks up close and meet the drivers of the massive Monster Jam trucks. For more information on Monster Jam, log onto www.MonsterJam.com or check out Monster Jam on Facebook and Twitter.
Party in the Pits was one of my favorite parts of the show last year. Not only did we get to meet many of the drivers, but we got to get up close and personal with the monster trucks. I’ve never seen my son more in awe than when he was staring up at Grave Digger and got to sit inside of the tire of one of the trucks.
I can’t wait to see my son’s face again when he gets to see all of his favorite Monster Jam trucks doing tricks and crashing into each other. Between the adrenaline from the crowd, the roar of the engines, and of course, the monster trucks themselves, this show is going to be nothing short of amazing.
