I recently attended a V.I.P. blogger tour of the Best Buy Tech Home in Atlanta. Remember back in the day when we were all drooling over Bill Gates’ awesome sauce smart home?
Just bring your self back into that moment, when you thought, “How freaking rad would it be to walk into my house and have the lights turns on, my playlist start jamming and the thermostat adjusted”.
Or wait, how about doing all of it from your phone as you’re getting the mail? Yeah, your phone. And trust me, my little nerdy babes, I’m just getting started.
The Best Buy Tech Home Experience – And Why You Totally Need to Check it Out for Yourself
Some of you may have watched my Instagram Story on @HeroesAndUnicorns (for those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s my alter ego gram of everything but travel), on my Best Buy Tech Home tour the day I visited.
If you did, kudos to you. I showed everyone my favorite smart products and shared why they were completely amazing. If you didn’t catch the story, no biggs, you’re here now.
When I first walked into the Best Buy Tech Home I wasn’t really sure what I would experience. Of course to my dismay, there was no Rosie the Robot from the Jetsons however, there was a robotic puppy!
But all jokes aside, this tour really got me thinking about what I wanted to add to my own home. Here are my top 10 favorite finds from the Best Buy Tech Home (and you can bet I’ll be adding all of them to my home soon).
Yale Smart Lock – For keyless home entry up to 99 codes and smartphone alerts upon entry and exit.
Ring Video Doorbell – This is super cool, you can see who’s at your door from your phone, let people in and know when they’ve left. It even has night vision! NIGHT VISION!!!!!
Petnet – Smartfeeder for pets. I love, love, LOVE this. It allows you to feed your pets from your phone. It even measures the amount for you. Perfect for a busy traveler like me.
The Logitech Harmony Home Hub – Allows you to control up to eight devices with your smartphone.
Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator – Complete with inside view camera which you can see from your phone, a giant built-in tablet on the door and of course many super cool interior functions.
Netgear Orbi Whole Home Tri-Band Wi-fi System – Gets high-speed internet to every single corner of your home.
Samsung Smart Things Motion Sensor – This is a must have to start with. You can program it for automated actions when movement or temperature shifts are detected. It also alerts your phone about unexpected activity while you’re away.
Samsung Smart Things Outlet – Control anything plugged into the outlet from anywhere. Electronics, lights, small appliances all can be controlled from your smartphone.
Ecobee Touch Screen Wi-fi Thermostat – Allows you to control the temperature of your home from anywhere on your phone.
The Samsung Powerbot Turbo – Vacuum all day, get a phone alert when the bag is full. Maps your home so it covers every inch.
I Loved the Entire Tour
The personal IHA tour really gave me a lot of insight as to what would fit best with my lifestyle, what would save me money and how it all worked.
I seriously wouldn’t have imagined a home could be so smart had I not been given this personal Best Buy Tech Home tour.
I decided to have an IHA (In-Home Advisor) visit my home to scope my place out and tell me just how smart my home can be. I thought since I lived in an apartment that I could never have the smart life, but no job is too big or small for an IHA, so I’m really excited to see what my upcoming IHA will show me.
I’m literally teeming with excitement over this. Like Christmas morning style.
