I paid a media rate at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort. This in no way changes my opinions of this property.

I had a recent opportunity to stay at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort at Disney Springs while attending a big blogging conference in Orlando. This was by chance. I generally avoid that area like the plague. Not because it is bad, but because I’m a Florida native and like most Florida natives, I try to travel as far north as possible. Also because traveling to Disney and doing the whole Orlando thing can be expensive AF!

Why the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort Won Me Over – And Why I’ll Go Back as a Paying Customer

As soon as I turned onto Lake Buena Vista Drive I was greeted by a giant Disney sign. That tinge of a magical feeling went through me as I realized I had arrived at the most magical place on Earth. Sort of. I mean, technically the most magical place on Earth would be Disney World but being on Disney property is still magical. Especially when you’re right next door to Disney Springs.

First Impressions the Hotel & Lobby

As I drove my Kia Niro along the winding Lake Buena Vista Drive I came to a towering building with a valet. It was the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort. Immediately I knew this wasn’t going to be one of those low-grade hotels, this was going to be a nice hotel (but without the steep Disney resort prices).

I walked into the lobby, a big open space with tranquil decor which immediately gave me the impression that this property was a good choice. It had that classic, elegant Florida vibe. Already pleased, I was eager to get up to my room on the 14th floor.

First Impressions Our Room

With my son by my side, we made our way up to our room exhausted from a long day of driving. When we opened the door the very first thing that stood out to me was the beautiful floors. It didn’t take long, moments actually, before my son was standing by the giant picturesque Windows overlooking Disney World, “Look, Mom, you can see the fireworks from here!”. And that was that! I ran over to the window and enjoyed the next few moments of watching the Disney firework show from my own room.

I hadn’t even had a moment to notice how beautiful the room was, we were still just so excited for the show we had just seen. But as I started to settle in little by little all the beautiful elements of our room began to stand out.

But what’s a beautiful room with a magical firework show without a Heavenly Bed?

The sleep I got in that bed may have been the best sleep I’ve ever had.

Character Breakfast

After a good night’s sleep, I was ready for a giant breakfast and my son, he was ready to meet Goofy.

It’s always cool when you can get a selfie with a Disney character. That part of our breakfast I thought was pretty fun. As for the pricing of the buffet in comparison to what other hotels offer for their breakfast buffets, I think it was a little high. however, it is Orlando pricing and for that rate was pretty comparable.

We had some time to hang out by the pool. Despite upper-90s temperatures, it was quite relaxing to sit by the water. My son thoroughly enjoyed the built-in water playground and I thoroughly enjoyed sipping a Mai Tai while tanning.

Overall Experience

The Wyndham at Lake Buena Vista Resort is a good place to stay to save money without sacrificing quality or class. I have no doubt if you stay here you will enjoy your time. And you’ll enjoy your extra money in your pocket too. Extra money is always a crowd pleaser.
