I’m a sound geek. Perhaps it comes from my love of music and finding that immersive experience that takes you on a little escape from reality. That’s the Harman Kardon experience.
A brand that came to me by way of Kia Motors America and gave me the opportunity to further my knowledge of the science behind the sound by inviting me to be among the first to visit the Harman/Kardon Experience at their Consumer PRoducts HQ in Los Angeles.
I spent two days getting to know Harman/Kardon, JBL, and why the new Kia Stinger sounds so darn amazing.
First, let me tell you that I’ve been driving the 2017 Kia Niro Hybrid for a year now. Inside I have an advanced audio package that includes the Harman Kardon experience sound system.
I also own a pair of Harman/Kardon Soho Wireless Headphones which I love.
The first time I cranked up the volume in the Kia Niro I was blown away by the bass. To this day I often take a ride just to hear music, and running errands has a whole new meaning.
The Harman/Kardon sound turns everyday tasks into everyday air guitar sessions. And as for my wireless headphones, I never leave home without them.
I use them at my desk and when I’m traveling. They are amazing. That said, when I was invited out to this event I was pretty excited.
I’m a science geek, and having an opportunity like this to learn from the geeks behind the amazing sounds of Harman/Kardon and JBL is a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
Plus, I’m obsessed with the new Kia Stinger, and having a chance to drive that precious baby again was pure bliss. Believe me when I tell you I put her sound limits to the test.
The Harman/Kardon Experience with Kia Stinger + Photo Journal
Everyone was really excited to explore the Harmon/Kardon Experience. Especially since we were the first to see it.
I got the chance to see all the various ways Karman/Kardon and JBL bring music into our lives whether it’s in the home, a hotel room, a home studio, or on stage.
With a wide range of speakers, microphones, headsets, lighting arrangements, and theatrical products, there is little that they are not doing.
One of my favorite things that I got to do was go behind the scenes and get schooled on the making of a speaker.
I had the chance to go into sound chambers, learn about how we process sound and even compare speakers in a blind survey.
We also got to sample every aspect of all products from Harman/Kardon and JBL in fully immersive experiences.
Just when I thought each thing topped the last, I got to sit inside a million-dollar home theater. Let me tell you, I didn’t want to leave. Everything about this room had my name on it.
So basically, new adult life goals have been made. If I had a home theater-like that, I don’t think I would ever see a movie in public again.
Everyday life with Harman/Kardon and JBL
Things have been more peaceful with Harman/Kardon in my life. It’s more stressful than you think being a homeschool mom who runs her company from her home office.
Sometimes I just need to check out and tune into something that takes me out of my space so I can recharge. I was fascinated to see how many in-home consumer products there are from Harman/Kardon and JBL.
I especially fell in love with the Go + Play Portable Bluetooth Speaker for its sound quality and ability to blend into any space.
When Your Man is a Musician and You Have a Home Studio
Yeah, that’s me. Sean is a man of many musical talents. He plays guitar, drums, keys, and just about anything he can make a rhythm with. He loves creating and mixing his music.
We have an in-home studio that he uses and loves. We own 2 JBL PA speakers and I thought they were amazing until I heard the JBL live system at the HK Experience.
Talk about 30k of music to your ears. WOW!
The 2018 Kia Stinger GT2
The 2018 Kia Stinger GT2 made its debut boasting the exquisite Harman/Kardon sound system. I spent the day driving the Stinger around Hollywood and putting the 15-speaker system to the test.
The clarity, bass, and overall immersive surround sound of the Stinger were mind-blowing.
We had a blast driving around Hollywood and Beverly Hills as 720 watts of Clari-Fi music digitally restored and pounding through QuantumLogic Surround Sound inspired some serious karaoke moments.
Whether you’re shopping for a car this year or holiday gifts, Harman/Kardon and JBL are brands of choice when picking out products for the sound geek in your life.
Take it from me, after spending a year looking ridiculous in my car singing at the top of my lungs, it’s not because the music sounded bad that’s for sure.
Immerse yourself in the music. Or at the very least, let a loved one be immersed.
Traveling is therapy. It’s also full of health benefits. I hope you’ve been bitten by the travel bug and keep on exploring!
