We were sent a variety of Slammers for the sake of sharing this story with our readers. We were not paid. Though we were given the free product, this does not mandate the delivery of our opinions.
I’m almost ashamed to say it, but this was the first summer my son spent with a bunch of neighborhood kids. I know that sounds ridiculous, every kid is playing outside over the summer, but we never had kids in our neighborhood until this year. On top of this being his first neighborhood kids summer, he’s getting bigger. At 8 years old he’s outside riding his bike, riding his scooter, climbing trees, and running in the house every 20 minutes starving. So when Slammers Organic Superfood sent me a bunch of organic snacks I was pretty excited.
First, let me say I’m so happy that he’s finally outside playing with kids and being a little boy. Since he’s my only child I’m new at everything. Every stage, every year, it’s all new to me. His hunger is also very new to me. And having a pantry full of Slammers really made me understand why they named them “Slammers” in the first place. My son literally comes in and slams them and then runs right back outside.
Why Slammers Organic Superfood Makes Me Feel Better About the Dinner Vegetable Debacle
Every single night it’s the same argument, he doesn’t want to eat his vegetables. I’m over here freaking out that he’s not getting the nutrients he needs to grow big and strong. And he’s freaking out because he has to eat broccoli again. So do organic Slammers make me feel better about the dinner vegetable debacle?
Slammers Organic Superfood is made with superfoods like acai berries, beets, and amaranth. They are an organic and excellent source of vitamins nutrients and some even protein added to them! Protein!
We were sent a variety of different flavors to try. Here is a breakdown of all the different Slammers Organic Superfood flavors that we tried and what we thought of them:
Awesome
Filled with bananas, apples, blueberries, strawberries, beets, acai berry, and amaranth. An excellent source of vitamin C. I love Awesome and so does my son. They are great chilled.
Amped
Filled with Apple, strawberry, cherry, and chai Amped has 500 mg of Omega-3 (ALA) per serving! And it tastes just as good as it sounds.
Creamy Banana Chocolate Protein
This is a superfood smoothie with no artificial flavors, a good source of vitamin C, and 7 grams of protein per pouch. It’s made with organic banana, coconut cream, grape, sweet potato, and cocoa powder. I especially love the Slammers with added protein. We all need protein to grow and build muscles, and it helps our immune system. Another thing I love about the added protein is that it keeps you fuller longer, which means my son plays a little more and eats a little less.
Chill’n
Filled with apples, bananas, blueberries, butternut squash, Greek yogurt, and yumberry. This one is a good source of iron and vitamin C and of course is organic.
Pumped
Filled with banana, mango, butternut squash, ancient grains, and cinnamon. It’s a good source of vitamin C and A and offers proteins, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants.
Epic
Filled with apples, mangoes, bananas, carrots, orange, Greek yogurt, and vanilla. An excellent source of vitamin C and A, it offers more protein than regular yogurt.
Slammers for Life
I had no idea about Slammers Organic Superfood packs until I was sent the variety to try out. We have spent the entire summer enjoying these and sharing them with the neighborhood kids. I and my son are completely addicted to Slammers. Now I feel better about the stuff he’s putting in his body and about the stuff I’m putting in my body. We’re all busy, we all forget to eat, or we don’t even have time to stop and eat (guilty). Slammers don’t need to be refrigerated you can take them everywhere. I feel good about eating on the go, finally!
Here’s to nutrition on the go!
