The Alice Through the Looking Glass red carpet premiere LA was held Monday night (May 23rd) at the world-famous El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. Fans lined the barricades along Hollywood Boulevard with anticipation as filmmakers, talent and PR / Disney Executives walked the red (actually red and black damask) carpet.
But I’m not here to tell you the same story you’ll get from Variety or Entertainment Magazine… I’m a blogger and I’m here to tell you the unlikely story of being among said filmmakers, talent and PR.
Or, should I say the impossible story…
Alice Through the Looking Glass is in theaters Friday May 27 SO GO SEE IT!
Blogging Social Influencers Attend Hollywood Red Carpet Premieres?
Had you asked me four years ago if I thought I’d ever attend a red carpet premiere, I would have easily answered “no”. I also would have looked at you like your were mad, utterly insane, and entirely bonkers. I am no filmmaker, actress or film executive and four years ago, I had no business in Hollywood. But if I’ve learned anything from being a true Alice in Wonderland fan, I’ve learned,
The only way to achieve the impossible is to believe it is possible” – Alice
And with that in mind, with no clear mission or designated path, precisely three years and sixteen days ago I started to flirt with the possibility of achieving the impossible. And in what seems like an impossibly short amount of time, I found myself at the Alice Through the Looking Glass red carpet premiere LA with not one, but twenty-four normal moms who also flirted with the possibility of achieving the impossible, to become social media influencers.
Suzanne Todd said it impeccably well in our round table interview with her,
Don’t sweat the small stuff and focus on positive outcomes.”
And it’s that profound sentiment which has been a common denominator among every one of us on this press trip with Disney and others before it.
So how do we do it?
So many people ask this question. And it’s a totally valid curiosity. I mean after all we are grocery-getting moms just like anyone else. The difference is we’ve made a career out of sharing the things we love. We’ve mastered the art of targeting audiences, content sharing and bringing the “real” experience to our readers.
But none of that success comes without years of free labor, savvy business & marketing skills, relationship building and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Much like Alice, we never gave up. We embraced the impossible and yes, we do six impossible things before breakfast.
So please know, that when we are attending big Hollywood blockbuster premieres, interviewing filmmakers and talent, and doing seriously cool behind the scenes stuff, it’s because we all have a little bit of that Alice mentality (and REALLLLLY AMAZING PUBLICISTS AT DISNEY).
Alice Through the Looking Glass Red Carpet Premiere LA
So let’s talk about the Alice Through the Looking Glass red carpet premiere in LA! First I loved the choice of carpet in black and red damask. It was so fitting to the film’s Victorian era. The highlights of the premiere were of course the mega song writer and recording artist performance by P!nk for Jimmy Kimmel Live, celebrity appearances, the filmmakers, the actual film and the after party.
P!nk Performs for Jimmy Kimmel Live in Front of the El Capitan Theater
God I love P!nk. She has always been such an inspiration to me. She’s fierce! If ever there was an example of achieving the impossible, she’s it. Having come from a broken family, she never had anything handed to her. She had to work for everything she has, and even when she was in a dark place she rose up and made that choice to do what she loves more than anything. She is such a strong woman.
P!nk performed both ‘Just Like Fire’ and the ‘White Rabbit’ cover featured in the Alice Through the Looking Glass film. It was an outdoor performance with selected fans and media and was recorded for Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Let me not be the last to say, she sings like an angel on a freaking unicorn. Not even so much as a crack. This woman has so much grace and character, she’s the Alice of female pop.

Celebrities Hit the Red Carpet
There were tons of people at the Alice Through the Looking Glass red carpet premiere LA, here are a few images:
The After Party
Of course Hollywood parties are always exciting to attend, but this one had some extra whimsical magic. Lots of celebrities were seen floating around but that wasn’t my favorite part. Producer Suzanne Todd, was the highlight of my evening. She is by far one of the most down to earth women I have ever met in the film industry. She led us around the party and introduced us to so many people, it was so kind. She truly is a sweetheart.
And my favorite part is she is a single mom like me. What an inspiring woman.
So in the end I did six impossible things… by bedtime.
I’ll take it and I’ll always remain grateful to the people who continue to help the impossible happen. The Alice Through the Looking Glass red carpet premiere LA was an incredible night, an impossible night made possible.
