More about Karon Beach Phuket, Thailand
Karon Beach is mainly made up of resorts. The Centara Grand Beach Resort is secluded and set apart from the other main resorts here. There are some local shopping, dining, and nightlife worth exploring in Karon Beach. If you are visiting this resort, my advisement would be to ask the locals! I always ask the bartenders and servers at resorts what my best bet is for exploring the local culture. You will be surprised as to what they will tell you!

Getting There and When
Southern Thailand’s seasons are less distinct and really there are only two proper seasons, summer and the rainy season. West of the peninsula (Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi) is best done between mid-November and April to avoid the monsoons. Getting to the main peninsula will of course involve a flight. I love to use Skyscanner, you can pick the cheapest times to go with this app and website.
I also recommend working with a reservation company where you can find great savings (those travel dollars add up fast, especially when you’re flying from the U.S. Check out Hoot Holidays, they offer some pretty great packages not just for Centara Grand Beach Resort, but for resorts all over the world.

Hi Christa,
Awesome. We’ve motorbiked by probably 100 times over our 7 months spent in Phuket; we live in Rawai when we visit. Just spent 5 weeks in the Ket.
Karon is beautiful, and the resort looks stunning. Just get their during high season to avoid the killer – literally – monsoon season, as the rip currents are dangerous, and can pull you out in a split second.
Thanks for the images, review and Phuket reminder. I’ll tweet this through Triberr.

I’ve only been to mainland Thailand before but this resort in Phuket looks just gorgeous!! The spa seems so inviting!
Tell me about it! It’s very secluded so there’s not a lot of tourists around either. A perfect spot for sure!
