Frozen, Disney’s 2013 animated movie about 2 sisters, Elsa and Anna, captured hearts and minds everywhere with its story of love, forgiveness, and personal growth. Audiences couldn’t get enough of it as it eventually became the highest-grossing animated movie ever. Despite fans knowing Elsa And Anna’s respective journeys, they’re not familiar with the journeys of those behind the scenes and all it took to bring Frozen to life. Disney will change that with its original special, “The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic,” airing on ABC tonight in a one-hour special starting at 8pm EST.
The Exclusive Behind the Scenes Look at Frozen
It’s an exclusive behind-the-scenes look hosted by Josh Gad, who was the voice of the snowman Olaf, that will give fans unprecedented access to the creative team and actors. It will feature interviews with Kristen Bell, the voice of Anna, and Idina Menzel, who brought Elsa to life, as they give their insights into what it was like to portray these beloved characters.
It’ll get deeper than that as John Lasseter, “Frozen” executive producer and Disney Animation Studios’ chief creative officer will be featured along with producer Peter Del Vecho, and directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, who will all provide insights into the creative process and the decisions made. And with Frozen’s much-acclaimed soundtrack, it wouldn’t be complete without the songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez being involved in this special. It’s undeniable that the animation is beautiful but the fictional kingdom, Arendelle, was inspired by real-life locations, and the special will explore the Norwegian landscapes and villages which inspired the look.
Of course, Elsa and Anna’s journey through the Disney kingdom isn’t over, and announcements will be made about the next chapter for Frozen, which doesn’t necessarily mean a film sequel at this point but anything is possible. However, if you’re a fan of Once Upon a Time and want to see these 2 characters on screen again then you definitely want to tune into this special as it shows a preview of them in an upcoming episode along with Kristoff.
And speaking of previews, you don’t want to miss exclusive footage of Disney’s next potential hit, “Big Hero 6,” a comedy action film based on the character from Marvel comics. It’s about a boy named Hiro and the relationship with his robot as they work to assemble a team after uncovering a criminal plot only they can solve.
