Didn’t get a chance to take an exotic trip to the beach this summer? No worries, I have the perfect in-town vacay for you and the little(s). I thought the Loews Hotel Atlanta was more for the romantic getaway, business traveler, or girlfriends’ getaway scene, however I was very surprised to know it was the perfect night out for the little and me. We had an in-town slumber party filled with lots of cool surprises and new memories. Here’s why the Loew’s Atlanta Hotel is the perfect spot for an in-town family getaway.

The Experience

Impressed, is an understatement.  I received a text message, as soon as we walked into our beautiful spacious room, to let us know that concierge service was a just a text message away.   Very avant-garde! The room was very nice with a beautiful view of the city. I really could have stayed in the room all night but the little really wanted to get started on the scavenger hunt.

Scavenger Hunt

The Loews Atlanta Hotel gives kids a scavenger hunt sheet upon hotel check-in. Once completed kids get to pick an item out of the beautifully hand painted treasure chest. The scavenger hunt was an excellent way to explore the Midtown Atlanta area.

Within walking distance of the hotel, we had the opportunity to see so many cool sites such as the newly installed Midtown sign, Piedmont Park, and The High Museum of Art. We even saw the home of “Gone with the Wind” author Margaret Mitchell.

We definitely worked up an appetite after exploring the Midtown Area, so the Saltwood Restaurant at the Loews Atlanta Hotel was the perfect cure for our hunger.

The Saltwood Charcuterie & Bar

The space is very modern with communal wood tables and mismatched seating. The food was AH-MAZING from the charcuterie, with locally sourced meats and cheeses, to the paella to the octopus. Yes, I tried the octopus. I’m a bit surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Don’t fret there is a menu for the littles with more of the traditional options like pizza and chicken tenders.

Yummy Charcuterie!

The Saltwood Restaurant is worth a visit even if you don’t stay the night. You will find that many locals frequent the restaurant.

One last surprise…

There was a cute popcorn and candy setup for us to enjoy while we watched our in-room movie. It was the perfect end to an incredible day.

Loews Hotel Atlanta – Family Fun Night Package

The Loews Hotel offers great packages such as the Family Fun Night Sleepover, which ends Dec. 31, 2016. The Family Fun Night includes complimentary parking for one vehicle, an in-room movie, and a bucket of kettle corn. The beach is great, BUT the Loews Atlanta Hotel is a great alternative if the beach trip isn’t in the near future.
