Places to Visit During Fall in the UK

London

One of the most beloved cities on the planet is London. There is so much to do and see while you are there, so be sure to give yourself a few days to explore. Whether you want to see some historical sites, go shopping for designer products, or eat at some of the world’s top restaurants while taking in the views of the trees as they become colorful and vibrant against the bright sun, this city will not disappoint. To be surrounded by the stillness of the trees, though, walk through Hyde Park, Hampstead Heath, and Greenwich Park.  It’s a highlight of fall in the UK for sure.

Symonds Yat Rock

Hikers will definitely want to spend time in the great outdoors during the autumn season. Imagine climbing to the top of a mountain and then looking out over an expansive view of colorful treetops. You can do that, and get amazing views of the River Wye and its nearby forest, by checking out Symonds Yat Rock. The forest will transform from green to gold, and you will also hike your way to gorgeous waterfalls while catching glimpses of local wildlife.

Tetbury, Gloucestershire

Tetbury, Gloucestershire is considered one of the best places in all of the United Kingdom to watch autumn roll in and transform the landscape into a truly beautiful sight to behold. In particular, you will want to definitely check out the Westonbirt National Arboretum, which features roughly 2,500 different species of trees. If you are a fan of trees, you will absolutely love it here. This arboretum was made in the middle of the 19th century. Visit during October for the peak of the foliage colors, but you can also visit between September and November for some amazing scenery as you walk the paths.

Stourhead, Mere, Wiltshire

Stourhead has gardens that are famous all over the globe, and they are described as living works of art. Opened way back in the 1740s, you will find gorgeous oak, beech, Spanish chestnut, sycamore, and more at this unique place. When these myriad trees start to change in the fall, you will not want to miss the spectacular show that they put on, so bring your camera, meditate under the trees, and take in the sweet smell of the air.

Fall in the UK is beautiful. If you have time to wait out the rainy days, you can really find some great picturesque spots to enjoy. If you are planning a visit to the UK this fall, you will not be disappointed.
