I recently had the opportunity to experience Halloweentime at Disneyland as part of the Cars 3 Blu-ray in home release event. I love Halloween decorations, especially when they’re done by theme parks. For the event, I spent most of the night at Disney California Adventure’s Cars Land, a place where I’ve found an endless supply of the feels. Because what better way is there to kick off the holiday season than by checking out the Cars Land Halloween decorations for their first ever Haul-O-Ween?

I think I’ve photographed Cars Land more than any other land at both Disney World and Disneyland. Halloweentime or midsummer, Cars Land is one of my favorite places on earth. It looks like it was taken straight from the films. It’s the kind of themed world that really takes you into the scene, and at night, it takes on a whole new appeal. But seeing Disneyland Haul-O-Ween, now that was a real treat!
Cars Land Haul-O-Ween – A Disney California Adventure Treat
The last time I was at Disney California Adventure was for the Cinderella in-home release dinner. I didn’t get to see much of the park, only Cars Land and a few rides over at Disneyland. But this time, I had a lot more time to explore. Having grown up in Florida I spent most of my youth going to Disney World, my only opportunities to visit Disneyland have been on press junkets with Disney. And this time I was in town for the Thor: Ragnarok Premiere.
As for Haul-O-Ween, I absolutely loved the decor, it was cute and whimsical, a perfect non-scary look for young kids. I took loads of pics. Check them out here:
I rode a few of the rides at Cars Land. They are the type of rides that can be enjoyed by all ages. I usually judge my favorite rides by photo ops and thrills. My favorites were Radiator Springs Racers and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters. So be sure to check these out.
I also had a chance to visit the new Guardians of the Galaxy Breakout ride which was themed for Halloween as “Monsters After Dark”. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a queue done up so well. I felt like I was in a scene from Guardians of the Galaxy. This was a total geek moment for me. And the gift shop was amazing. I picked up a few comics and a Thor: Ragnarok mug for the win.
After Disney California Adventure we headed over to Disneyland for a couple rides. My favorite was the Haunted Mansion which was themed out to A Nightmare Before Christmas. I totally fangirled in the line over this. I wish I had more photos of this one but it was hard to take in the low light. Trust me when I say, if you’re a fan (and even if you’re not), this is one of the best Halloween rides at Disneyland. If you’re planning on going to Disneyland this time of year I highly recommend getting the MaxPass so you don’t have to deal with long lines. And, check out these Cars Land fun facts before you go.

How utensils is that. It looks like so much fun! Cars is still one of my favorite movies.
This brings back a lot of great memories. Our family went in 2015 at the beginning of October and was a lot of these fun decorations. it was a great time.

We love all things Cars and all things Halloween (except the terribly terrifying.) I especially like the decorated Mickey Balloons and the little Halloween gas tanks above. Your pictures turned out awesome!
We spent Halloween in Disney as well. It was amazing! I don’t think we checked out this event though. It’s awesome that they’re releasing the DVD! Cars 3 is one of our fave movies this year.
