Five Years Old and Dreaming
My mom has been asking me to think of places to add to my bucket list. Every time she asks me where I want to go and what I want to do I always tell her, “I want to go to New York City.” We have this giant picture in our living room of New York City, and I always look at it. The tall buildings are so cool. The Empire State Building is the coolest. I really want to go to the Statue of Liberty. Every time I see it on T.V. it looks so cool! Then my mom showed me this helicopter that takes people over the city, and I was like, “Epic! This is definitely going on my bucket list!”. Like how cool would it be to go on a helicopter tour in New York City?
A Helicopter Tour, New York City
The helicopter tour in New York City goes everywhere! Between buildings, around the statue of liberty, to the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and even over central Park! It’s like the coolest thing I’ve ever seen! You get to fly for 15 minutes, but I could fly for hours.
There’s More to New York City
So, my mom and I sat down and started to look at other cool things in New York City, you know like folklore stuff, cool history and legends. You won’t believe what we found! Ghost stories! There was the Ghost Pilots of Times Square and the story of the Lincoln Death Train. We also found cool stuff about the legends of Rip Van Winkle and even Santa Clause! Check out this cool site on American Folklore.
There are lots of things to see and do in New York City. Besides going on a sweet helicopter ride, there’s shows for kids on Broadway like, Aladdin, the Lion King, Matilda, and Wicked. Sitting down with my mom and looking at it all makes me want to go even more. She says, I have to let Santa know in advance and maybe I’ll get to go for Christmas!
While I was looking things up in New York for the Little I came across this helpful site of Tickets for New York Attractions. It was a helpful one-stop site and it seems to have everything we need. We’ll see if the Little is naughty or nice, maybe he’ll get to see the Big Apple this year after all.
