About the Fossil Gen 4 Venture HR Smartwatch in 40mm Stainless Steel Rose Gold
If you have a Google Home or use the Google Assitant on your smartphone, then you know how glorious it is to say, “Okay Google what is the weather for tonight?”. But the awesome doesn’t stop there. You can ask Google to do just about anything like, to play music, set a calendar event, a reminder, an alarm, your math, make phone calls, texts, you can even ask it what you should wear. I mean come on! If you haven’t arrived at the smart technology that is the Google Operating System, then I highly recommend you join the party. It’s a game changer. Never again will I have to do math during baking sessions, or get my news from the internet. It’s all right here at my command with all the James Bond vibes I ever could have dreamed of when I was a kid.
Who Is the Fairest of Them All? The Fossil Women’s Smartwatch of Course
First, let’s just talk about how smashing this baby is! Right out of the box I was dazzled by the stainless steel rose gold color and bling! Not a delicate smartwatch by any means, the Fossil women’s smartwatch is durable, pretty, and classy.
Everything I need in my new favorite Fossil women’s smartwatch is right at the tip of my finger. Let’s break this down from left to right (and up and down) shall we? Here are some of the highlights of my gorgeous new obsession:
Google’s OS is at my command. I just press the microphone and ask away! Here are some of the most common things I find myself asking for,
What’s the forcast for tonight?”
What is 4.4% x $150?” (and other fun math questions)
Make an appointment for December 24th at 1:00am to put the presents under the tree.”
Call my mom.”
Tell me something inspiring.”
Turn my kitchen lights to 50%.” (for use with smartlight systems)
Turn on the living room TV.” (for use with smart TV).
Take me to my next appointment.”
On this screen, I can see everything from the weather to motivational quotes and more. The Fossil women’s smartwatch can communicate with either an iPhone or Android smartphones.
This is where I can stay in tune with my body by recording information about exercise sessions, my heart rate, track my distance, my calories burned, my activity, sleep activity, steps taken and floors climbed so I can keep my daily health goals in check. The gorgeous rose gold stainless steel goes with my workout clothes and just about any outfit (including my blogger ensemble which at this point in time are my pajamas).
This is where I found a range of quiet notifications from incoming e-mails, calls and text messages, social apps, as well as upcoming calendar events. I can reply right here from my smartwatch by either voice or text. I can even draw faces to make emojis!
Here I can access my settings like airplane mode, battery saver, find my phone (it will call my phone which is amazing) Google Pay, turn my screen off to save battery, and do not disturb.
And Last but Not Least, Function Buttons
There are three function buttons on the side of the watch which I was able to assign functions to.
The main button pulls up a plethora of apps to include; weather, find my phone, Google Pay, Agenda, Alarm, Contacts, Google Fit, Fit Breathe, Fit Workout, Flashlight, Fossil Q, Keep Notes, Media Controls, Noonlight, Google Translate, Google Play Store, Reminders, Stopwatch, Settings, and Timer.
I assigned my agenda to the top button and Google Fit to the bottom button.
Wear OS by Google
I said it before and I’ll say it again, Google is my favorite in the way of voice recognition technology. Since I use the Google Home, every shred of smart technology in my life is linked to the Google OS. I love that Fossil chose to go with the Wear OS by Google because not only is Fossil a reputable brand name known for its quality watches, but it means my watch is compatible with everything in my home and even my car (which runs on Android Auto). I can tell my watch to play a song and when my phone is linked to the USB in my vehicle, it plays in the car!
The Wear OS by Google works with phones running Android 4.4 or later (excluding Go edition) or iOS 9.3 or later operating systems.*
The Hardware and Watch Beyond Its Superpowers
This Fossil women’s smartwatch is made with an 18mm stainless steel watch band ensures durability and an elegant look with its gorgeous rose gold color and a side of sparkle. It’s water resistant against submersion up to 164′ of water. It has Bluetooth 4.1 LE connectivity and NFC technology enables simple one-touch pairing and is GPS enabled. Charge it on its wireless charging dock for up to 24 hours of use! It’s smart, pretty and durable! It also has 512 megabytes Watch Memory (RAM) and is Wi-Fi compatible.
The Final Verdict
I’m head over heels in love with the new Fossil women’s smartwatch and you will be too! It’s not only stunning in appearance, but it’s durable and gives me everything I could ever need from the Wear OS by Google I could ever need.
