If You’re Heading to Sydney With Family Consider These Attractions

If you’re planning a trip to Sydney with family and want to get an idea of some fun things you can do while you’re there, here are a few family-friendly activities and outings which are guaranteed to be fun for the whole family.

Must-see Iconic Attractions for Anyone Going to Sydney with Family

No visit to Sydney is complete without experiencing some of the iconic attractions that Sydney is famous for.

A trip to Circular Quay is a must, offering the best opportunity to soak in the scenic views of Sydney Harbour and the world-famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House all in one go.

Sydney’s tallest building, the Sydney Tower Eye, is another favorite if you want to get a birds-eye view of the beautiful harbor-side city. A visit to the internal Observation Deck is sure to please, but if you prefer to live life on the edge, you could opt for the open-air Skywalk tour.

Luna Park is another iconic Sydney landmark which has been a favorite for generations of families. With plenty of carnival rides, games and other attractions to choose from, it’s sure to keep the whole family entertained for hours!

Favorites for animal lovers

For the animal lovers amongst us, there are plenty of fun and furry activities on offer in Sydney.

Pay a visit to Sydney’s famous Tooronga Zoo to encounter everything from Tigers and Elephants to Monkeys and Meerkats, or if you most want to see animals which are native to Australia, there’s no better place than Wild Life Sydney where you’ll be able to see everything from Kangaroos and Koalas, to Crocodiles and Tasmanian Devils.

The Sydney Sea Life Aquarium is another great outing for the whole family, with hundreds of species of various sea life including penguins, dugongs, sharks, and rays.

If you’re looking for a more hands-on experience, Featherdale Wildlife Park is well worth a visit as you’ll be able to get up close and personal with a range of wildlife like Koalas, Dingoes, Owls and other Mammals, Reptiles and Birds.

When it’s time to explore outdoors

If your family enjoys getting outdoors and connecting with nature, there are plenty of places to explore around Sydney.

You don’t have to go far with the Royal Botanic Gardens and the beautiful Hyde Park both in the heart of the city, however if you’re happy to venture a little further out of the city, you won’t be disappointed by a visit to Royal National Park, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park or the breath taking Blue Mountains National Park.

Sydney is also famed for being home to some beautiful beaches and no trip to Sydney is complete without experiencing at least one. The world-famous Bondi Beach is a must, but Manly Beach and Bronte Beach are equally as impressive. Making the short trip to Kamay Botany Bay National Park to explore Captain Cook’s landing spot is also well worth it.

Something indoors

If you’d prefer something a little less outdoorsy, there are plenty of great options for families in Sydney too.

The Powerhouse Museum is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for every member of the family, with a wide variety of exhibits geared at different age groups which are both fun and informative.

Another family favourite is the Madame Tussauds wax museum in Darling Harbour, where you’ll all have a blast snapping some selfies with your favourite celebrities!
