Travel Tips – 5 Benefits of Booking Your 2017 Holiday Early

Are you wondering whether it’s better to book your holiday now or leave it until much later in the year? Well, it’s a common dilemma for holidaymakers, but often, booking early comes out on top. Here are five reasons you should be booking your 2017 holiday before the pre-summer rush.

Travel Tips to Know for 2017

  1. You’ll benefit from the best bargains

While it’s true that there are definitely some great deals to be had if you’re prepared to book a holiday at the last minute, you’ll actually be able to take advantage of early booking discounts such as extra nights, free meals or room upgrades if you’re willing to book early.

  1. You’ll have first pick of the best hotels

Do you have any idea how many people went on holiday from Ireland last year? Well, according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO), nearly seven million Irish residents traveled overseas in 2016, a number that’s been rising year on year. While that’s great news for us as a population (more time in the sun can only be a good thing, can’t it?), it does mean you might face ever-fiercer competition to book the best hotels. So, the ability to pick whatever hotel you want from a large selection of choices is perhaps one of the biggest reasons for booking your 2017 holiday.

  1. You’ll have first pick of flights too

Another bonus of booking early is that you can choose the flights that best suit you. Have your pick of the the best airlines, the best seats and flight times by booking as far ahead as you can. British Airways release their flying schedules as far ahead as 11 months, so you can get a head start on the other holidaymakers if you book early. Also, if you’re traveling with children, booking ahead of time is a good idea as far as transport is concerned too: you can reserve seats together so you can travel as a family rather than being split up across a plane. Otherwise, you may have to grab whatever seats you can get if booking later in the year.

  1. You’ll have something to look forward to

The first half of the year can be a bit of a slog at work and at school, so why not give you and the family something to look forward to? By pouncing on a good deal to Crete, a great offer in Gran Canaria or a bargain in Portugal, you’ll have a date to put in the diary and plenty of weeks to daydream about it! After all, the joy of going on holiday starts long before you hop on the plane… stocking up the holiday wardrobe, researching landmarks to visit and learning a little of the language can be really exciting, and booking your holiday early means you’ll have lots of time to do these things.

  1. You can pay it off in installments before you go away

Most people argue that they’re going to book their holiday later so they have more time to save up for it. Of course, this makes sense, but did you know that you can book your holiday early by just putting down a small deposit? You can then pay the full balance off before you go on holiday, which means you can get the best of both worlds: an affordable way to book a holiday, and full choice of everything on offer.

So, will you be booking your 2017 early now that you’ve read these reasons why? And if so, where would you like to go?
