Mexican Coffee Recipe Adult Beverage Style with Tequila

In light of having just spent some time in the Riviera Maya of Mexico for the annual Day of the Dead festival, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite flavor takeaways. Mexican Coffee is unlike any other and when you spice it up with a splash of tequila, it’s a perfect adult beverage. This is a recipe for Mexican Coffee with a splash of awesome.

Mexican Coffee Recipe with Tequila

Let’s be honest, sometimes mommy needs a little extra something to unwind. Nothing wrong with that… I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat at my desk with a cup of coffee and a glass of wine. Well, this Mexican Coffee recipe with tequila nips that ridiculousness in the bud. Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients

  • 12 cups of hot brewed coffee
  • 2 cans (14 oz.) condensed milk
  • 2 cups coffee liqueur
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup tequila
  • ground cinnamon to taste

Instructions 

Mix all the ingredients together until evenly blended. The coffee liqueur is the most important part, with tequila available for those who want even more of a kick. The sweet, flavorful burn creates a memorable end cap between dinner and the rest of the night’s festivities.

If you have a Nespresso maker or similar:

You can make this recipe if you’re rocking a single cup maker like I do. This is an easy way to do it without going the communal batch way. I use single cup coffee and it’s amazing flavor really makes the difference.

Ingredients

  • ground cinnamon
  • ground cloves
  • cocoa powder
  • vanilla creamer
  • chocolate syrup
  • coffee liqueur
  • frothed milk
  • coarse brown sugar
  • coarse sea salt
  • Splash of Tequila

Instructions

You can make each cup personal to each person with a Nespresso alternative capsules from Gourmesso favorite. Once you’ve brewed the cup, let each person flavor it to taste with the above spices and liquor.

There’s no need for a special occasion to use your Mexican Coffee recipe. Whether you’re alone or with friends telling coffee jokes, there’s alway room for added spice. Especially if you’re a late night owl writing a blog post.
