Now that school is out, I’m in vacation mode. All I think about is where I want to go. Recently I’ve been daydreaming a lot of Italy. Sure it may be a little on the hot side this time of year, but that country is full of so much ancient history, amazing food, and it always feels like there’s magic in the air. While I’ve been planning the vacation in my head, I’ll admit I haven’t given much thought to what to pack. I feel like I never know what to bring, what to wear, or just how many suitcases I’ll actually need. So if you’re at all like me, these Italy travel tips on what to pack is the perfect tool to use when planning a trip to Italy.

There are so many things to see and do in Italy that it can be hard to know exactly what you need and for when. Depending on what you want to do on your trip will influence the things you want to bring – like if you’re going to the beach or plan to do wine tastings you definitely need different items. Something else to take into account is the specific area in Italy and the current climate along with the time of year you’re going. Certain times of the year can be rainy, cold, or crazy hot, so packing accordingly is a must.

If you plan to visit The Vatican or other churches, there is usually some sort of dress code you need to follow. For women shoulders must be covered and skirts need to be of a modest length. Men are not allowed to wear shorts. You can be denied access to these places, so be sure to check what the dress code is.

Have fun packing – Ciao!
