One of the most successful film franchises of all time
Universal Orlando Resorts is killing it when it comes to epic movie rides. Now, having just announced the Fast & Furious ride for 2017, they are bringing attention back yet again to their ever-expanding destination in Florida.
What We can Expect for Fast & Furious Ride
Fast & Furious Supercharged brings guests right into the middle of the popular, adventure-packed film franchise led by film stars Vin Diesel (Dom Toretto), Dwayne Johnson (Hobbs), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty) and Tyrese Gibson (Roman). So far the ride details are:
- High-speed supercharged cars for guests to checkout
- Guests will get to explore Toretto headquarters and be submerged in the underground racing world
- Guests will board specially designed vehicles which will take them on the action-adventure filled ride
From the press release
Guests will experience a high-octane journey that fuses an original storyline and incredible ride technology with everything that fans love about the films—popular characters, exhilarating environments, nonstop action and, of course, high-speed cars.
-Universal Orlando Resort
To make way for this new ride, Disaster: A Major Motion Picture Starring You! will be closed permanently starting September 8, 2015, with Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue closing later this year. Bye, bye Beatlejuice, you had a good run.
About Fast & Furious
If you don’t know what Fast & Furious is then chances are you live under a rock. Fast & Furious is Universal Pictures’ highest-grossing film franchise of all time. It made its debut in 2001 and since then has become a pop culture favorite. Between its seven films, it’s grossed upwards of $3.9 billion at the worldwide box office. In the wake of its late star Paul Walker, its most recent film, Furious 7, became the fifth-highest-grossing film of all time, with more than $1.5 billion in global box office.
My Take on the New Fast & Furious Addition
One of my favorite things about universal Orlando Resort is their ability to keep up with the times. They know when a ride needs to call it quits, and when it’s time to bring in rides that people want and prove to love. They nailed it with Harry Potter in both parks (lands which I literally can not get enough of), and they continue to stay true to the film fan by introducing new experiences like this new Fast & Furious ride, Diagon Alley and Transformers. There’s always something for everyone which keeps us (Florida residents) annual pass holders for years to come. If this new ride holds a candle to thee film franchise, chances are it’s going to be a hit. For info coming as it’s released. Stay tuned.
